Bulldogs Endure Tough Night Before Thanksgiving Break, Look to Bounce Back Against North Rowan Tonight
On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the Bulldog basketball programs had a tough night on the hardwood. The JV & Varsity Boys both lost hard-fought games to College Prep & Leadership Academy while the Girls played and fell to a tough 2A squad in Forest Hills.
The JV Boys team came together and played tough for 3 quarters before the Royals were able to pull away in the 4th. The JV ‘Dogs were led by JaZyion Geiger who played intense defense and often turned that defense into points.
The Varsity Boys led at the half but ultimately fell in a hard-fought contest with the Royals.
The girls team sprinted out to an early lead, but when Jasmine Brown had 2 curious fouls called on her early, she got into foul trouble, and clogging up the lane became an issue for the ‘Dogs. Forest Hills was able to pull away toward the end of the first half.
The JV and Varsity boys look to win their first game of the season tonight when the ‘Dogs welcome North Rowan to town, while the girls look to climb back above .500 in the early-going this season.
