This Week in Bulldog Athletics

The week in Bulldog Athletics starts off this evening at 5pm as the Bulldogs' volleyball team plays host to Mount Pleasant in both JV and Varsity volleyball. After hosting the Tigers today, cross-county rival North Stanly will make the trip down 52 to Albemarle on Thursday. On both Tuesday & Thursday, the matches start at 5pm for JV and 6pm for Varsity.

Albemarle Men’s Soccer kicks of its season this Wednesday evening when they travel to South Stanly for a 5:30pm match-up with the Rebel Bulls. The ‘Dogs are led by first-year head coach Daniel Ubaldo; they’ll enter competition with a thin but hard-working roster. The Bulldogs first home match is next week, September 14th. Meanwhile, AHS football has had shakeup in the schedule. Due to COVID-19 protocols related to Anson High’s football team and out of an abundance of caution, Anson & Albemarle have backed up the JV and Varsity games to their previously shared bye-week of September 23/24. The Bulldogs will now be off this Friday, will play at Southwest Randolph next Friday (Sept. 17), and will return home on the 24th to play host to the Anson Bearcats.
