Busy Day for the ‘Dogs — Men’s Basketball @ S. Stanly, Wrestling @ R-S Central
BASKETBALL
Following a sweep in the “Battle for the A” that saw the JV Boys win 52-35, the Varsity Girls win 62-33, and the Varsity Boys win 44-43, the men’s basketball team opens conference play tonight while the women have the night off.
South Stanly isn’t fielding a girls team this season, so after Kai Spencer and Amari Baldwin led the Bulldogs with a double-double each (Spencer w/rebounds & points, Baldwin w/steals & points), the Lady ‘Dogs have the night off. They’ll return to action on Tuesday in a “Battle for the A” rematch in Anson.
The JV ‘Dogs were led by a solid effort from JaZyion Geiger to a convincing win on the strength of a 17-2 second quarter. They’ll tip off at 5:30 tonight.
The Varsity ‘Dogs hit a late layup to win 44-43 over Anson after coming up with a defensive stop with less than 30 seconds to go in the game. The ‘Dogs will tip off at 7:00 tonight.
Tickets to tonight’s games can be purchased here: TICKETS.
