Winter Sports Season in Full Swing

The 2022/2023 Winter Sports Season is underway! Basketball, Cheer, Wrestling, and the Bulldogs’ newest team, Indoor Track, are a few weeks into their seasons. The Track team has already had a small handful of athletes qualify for the state championship meet, which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 11. The wrestling team went to an individual tournament in Thomasville this past Saturday, Dec. 3, and got in some good work ahead of their home opening match tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 7 against Jay M. Robinson.

The AHS Lady Bulldogs basketball team is off to a solid start with convincing wins over state #4 North Rowan and over cross-county rival West Stanly. The boys are continuing to grow through a tough opening stretch. Tonight, Dec. 6, the JV Girls and Boys and the Varsity Boys play at home at 4:30, 6:00, and 7:30. All four teams (JV and Varsity Girls/JV and Varsity Boys) play at Salisbury on Wednesday and at home against South Stanly (JVG, JVB, VB) and Hopewell (Varsity Girls).
