A Look Back, A Look Ahead - Homecoming Week & Volleyball’s Senior Night!

Last week the Bulldog football team picked up an important win over cross-county rival South Stanly High School. With the victory, the ‘Dogs took the upper hand in the race for the automatic playoff bid for the 1A side of the split 1A/2A conference. With a win over Union Academy next Friday, the Bulldogs would lock down that playoff spot. Before that game, though, Albemarle turns its attention to Mt. Pleasant for a homecoming football game this Friday! The game has playoff as well as playoff-seeding implications. Later this evening, the Albemarle volleyball team hosts its final home match against Gray Stone Day School and will recognize the senior players prior to the match! Come out and show your support for the Lady Bulldogs and especially for the senior girls, who’s home volleyball career are coming to a close this evening. JV plays at 5 and Varsity plays at 6. Also later today the men’s soccer team travels up Highway 52 to take on cross-county rival North Stanly. The ‘Dogs are paying a return visit to North after winning the home match against the Comets by a final score of 2-1. Tonight’s match kicks off at 5:30. On Thursday the men’s soccer team returns home for a match against South Stanly that was rescheduled from last week due to inclement weather and the JV football team travels to Mt. Pleasant to take on the Tigers.
