Bulldog Track Sweeps the Home Meet

The Boys Track team ran away (pun intended) with the meet — scoring 107 points — next closest was Gray Stone with 62. The Girls team got the win with a photo-finish — scoring 77 with Gray Stone right behind at 72.

The Boys scored in every category, with the majority of their points coming from sprints and jumps — 29 and 27, respectfully.

In the 110 Meter Hurdles, Slay Jackson scored 6 points with a win. Dre Davis, Jaylen Pinkney, and Malik Watkins combined for 12 points in the 100 Meter Dash, placing 1st, 2nd, and 4th. The ‘Dogs took the 4x200 meter relay and the 4x100 meter relay; the ‘Dogs placed 3rd in the 4x400. Omarion Hinson had a solid day in distance, coming in third in the 1600 and winning the 800. Vincent Gregory and Nyzir Garner combined for 6 points in the 400 Meter Dash, placing 2nd and 4th. Davis, CJ Ellis, and Jackson took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 300 Meter Hurdles for a total of 13 points. Pinkney was joined by Davis and Zyion Geiger to score 11 points in the 200 meters, placing 1st, 2nd, and 5th.

Down on the field, Miles Gregory, older brother of Vincent, took 2nd in Boys Shot Put with a throw of 37’5” and placed 4th in the Discus with a throw of 81’2”.

Ali Currie had a clean sweep in Triple Jump, High Jump, and Long Jump, placing first in all 3. In the high jump, the ‘Dogs took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd — Mahari Caple and Jackson placed second and third, respectively. Meanwhile Willie Browne placed 4th in the Triple Jump.

With Hinson scoring in distance, the ‘Dogs scored in every category and only missed out on double digits in throwing events where Gregory is single-handedly holding down the fort.

In the girls side of the competition, the ‘Dogs scored in every category but distance.

In the 100 meters, Amari Baldwin, Mary Grace Krol, and Abbie Clayton placed first, second, and third — and the girls won both the 4x100 and the 4x200 relays. Clayton claimed first in the 400 meters, and was joined by Krol as well as De’Narjeonia Robinson, who placed 4th and 5th. Amari and Abbie placed 1st and 2nd, respectfully, in the 200 meter run as well. Aryjha Baldwin and Anautica Meaders placed 1st and 4th in the 100 Hurdles. Aryjha also took first in the 300 meter hurdles.

Meanwhile down on the field, Mariyah Lilly placed 5th in the Shot Put and 2nd in the Discus.

Amari won the triple jump, Krol placed 4th in the Long Jump, and Kai Spencer took first in the High Jump.

The Lady Bulldogs continue to round out their approach as they turn toward the county meet, which is scheduled to be at Bulldog Stadium this Tuesday, April 5th.

Baseball, Soccer Continue to Battle, Learn

With young teams on the diamond and the girls soccer pitch, the Bulldogs came up on the wrong side of the scoreboard but continue to engage the process and improve game after game. As the Bulldogs in both sports continue to learn the rhythm of the game, marked progress is being made. Stay tuned in as the ‘Dogs continue to compete this spring!
